Extensive archaeological surveys along the planned route are necessary, which is a standard but time-consuming procedure for such large infrastructure projects. Parallel environmental actions will be conducted, including ökologische Ausgleichsmaßnahmen. This is not merely a formality, as the planned route passes through sensible Naturräume, which forces the contractor to adhere to the highest nature protection standards and conduct detailed Umweltverträglichkeitsprüfungen.
