Foundation president Jerzy Owsiak officially confirmed the final collection amount during a press conference at the organization's Warsaw headquarters on March 30, 2026. The funds from the 34th Finale are specifically designated to revolutionize pediatric gastroenterology across Poland's public hospitals.
Focus on Pediatric Gastroenterology
For the first time in the foundation's 34-year history, the collection targeted the diagnosis and treatment of digestive tract diseases in children, under the slogan 'Healthy tummies of our children'.
Massive Volunteer Mobilization
The event involved 120,000 volunteers and 1,681 local headquarters, including 88 international locations, distributing 40 million iconic red heart stickers.
Historical Comparison
While the 263.4 million PLN total is a significant success, it fell short of the 2025 record of 289 million PLN, though the cumulative lifetime total has now surpassed 2.6 billion PLN.
The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity raised 263,477,929.83 zł during its 34th Finale, foundation president Jerzy Owsiak announced on Monday, March 30, 2026. The figure represents the final tally after weeks of counting all payments, auctions, and donations following the main collection day on January 25. On the night of the Finale itself, the declared amount stood at 183,231,782 zł, a preliminary figure that always rises as additional funds are processed. The 2026 result, while substantial, falls below the record set during the 33rd Finale in 2025, when the foundation collected 289,068,047.77 zł according to TVN24. The announcement was made at a press conference at WOŚP headquarters.
Pediatric gastroenterology chosen as this year's cause The 34th Finale was held under the slogan "Healthy tummies of our children," with all proceeds directed toward the diagnosis and treatment of digestive tract diseases in the youngest patients. According to Polsat News, this marked the first time pediatric gastroenterology was chosen as the goal of the annual collection. The foundation cited a growing number of young patients and the need for modern equipment as the rationale for the selection. Funds were collected not only through the characteristic tins and virtual e-skarbonkas, but also through tens of thousands of online auctions. WOŚP prepared more than 40 million stickers in the form of red hearts, the campaign's longstanding symbol. The central studio for the Finale was located at the PGE Narodowy Stadium in Warsaw, where Jerzy Owsiak led the event and concerts took place, followed by the traditional "Light to Heaven" ceremony in the evening.
120,000 volunteers spread across 1,681 headquarters worldwide A total of 120,000 volunteers participated in the 34th Finale, organized across 1,681 headquarters, including 88 located abroad, according to WOŚP. The TVN24 report cited a slightly different figure of 1,670 headquarters, while the RadioZET and Polsat News reports gave the number as 1,681. Across Poland and in diverse corners of the world, countless concerts, sporting events, picnics, rallies, and other attractions took place alongside the tin collections. The foundation also noted that the declared amount physically reached the fundraising account on February 23, less than a month after the Finale day, before the full count was completed. Already in early March, WOŚP carried out its first medical equipment purchases from this year's collection — the 83rd Tender Competition, focused on oncology and hematology equipment, through which 39 devices were acquired for a total of 26,596,061.64 zł, according to RMF24.

Over 2.6 billion zł raised across three decades of activity
The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity has organized annual Finales since 1993, when its first collection raised 3,773,443.38 zł for heart diseases in the youngest patients. The foundation's collections have grown steadily over the decades: the 8th Finale in 2000 raised 25,229,564.40 zł, and the 17th Finale in 2009 raised 42,191,283.90 zł, according to data published by Rzeczpospolita. In recent years, the amounts have climbed sharply, with the 33rd Finale in 2025 reaching nearly 290 million zł, the 32nd Finale raising over 281 million zł, and the 31st Finale in 2023 collecting over 243 million zł, according to RMF24. Over 33 Finales, the foundation collected exactly 2,583,870,594 zł, which after adjusting for inflation exceeds 3.7 billion zł in real terms, according to RMF24.
In total, over 34 years of activity, the foundation has raised over 2.6 billion zł, according to Polsat News. With those funds, more than 80,000 devices have been purchased for public hospitals throughout Poland, and it is estimated that today every fifth medical device in Poland was financed by WOŚP, according to RMF24. The foundation operates year-round, running medical and educational programs and responding to crisis situations, including support for Ukraine. Supporters can also contribute through the annual 1.5% tax transfer by entering WOŚP's KRS number in their annual PIT declaration. According to public opinion polls cited by Rzeczpospolita, WOŚP has for years enjoyed the greatest trust among non-governmental organizations, state institutions, and church institutions in Poland.
