On March 15, 2026, two separate fatal accidents occurred on Polish roads. At night in the area of Strzelce Opolskie, a 16-year-old passenger died when a car hit a tree. In the morning in Chałupy on provincial road no. 216, a 50-year-old female driver died after a head-on collision with a minibus.

Two people died in two separate road accidents in Poland on March 15, 2026. The first incident occurred at night near Strzelce Opolskie in the Opole Voivodeship, and the second in the morning in Chałupy on the Pomeranian coast.

On the night of March 14-15, on the road between Piotrówka and Łaziska, near Strzelce Opolskie in the Opole Voivodeship, a 16-year-old passenger died. The car, driven by a 19-year-old, hit a tree. The 16-year-old died at the scene. Police are investigating the circumstances of the accident. There is no confirmed information about the condition of the 19-year-old driver after the crash.

The second fatal accident occurred around 7:15 AM on provincial road no. 216, which connects Władysławowo with Hel, in the village of Chałupy. A 50-year-old woman driving a passenger car died after a head-on collision with a minibus. The minibus driver was not injured. Three firefighting units were dispatched to the scene, including units of the State Fire Service and volunteer fire brigades. A helicopter from the Air Ambulance Service also participated in the rescue operation. After the accident, alternating one-way traffic was introduced at the scene, causing disruptions on the route towards Hel.

Road accidents remain a persistent public safety problem in Poland. The road corridor on the Hel Peninsula, served by provincial road no. 216, carries heavy seasonal traffic and has a limited number of alternative routes, so any serious incident particularly disrupts traffic flow there. The Opole region, located in Upper Silesia, also records fatalities on local roads connecting smaller towns, where nighttime driving conditions can be dangerous.
