Bluey remains one of the most important titles in the streaming giant's catalog.
The next step in enriching the service's library will be the premiere of ten new mini-episodes, which will debut on the platform on May 20, 2026. The short-form content, known as Bluey Minisodes, includes titles such as Humpty Dumpty, Green Bottles, Flying Saucer, Tea Party, Pea Pod Sausages, Old Macdonald, Honk, Lollipop Song, Cinderella, and Make Mum Laugh. The new content is intended to fill the gap for fans waiting for more full-length episodes of the series. This phenomenon has been dubbed the Bluey drought in industry media. The Bluey series debuted in Australia on ABC Kids on October 1, 2018. Since then, it has become a global phenomenon, winning numerous awards, including an International Emmy Kids Award. In 2025, the production achieved the status of the most-streamed program in the United States, amassing billions of minutes of viewing in Nielsen rankings.
The series' creator, Joe Brumm, is currently developing several projects in parallel, both related to the Bluey brand and new formats. Work is underway on a full-length theatrical film about the adventures of the Heeler family, with a premiere scheduled for August 6, 2027. Simultaneously, Brumm is involved in producing an adult-oriented animation titled Deano, which is being made for the Hulu platform. Despite new professional challenges, the priority remains maintaining interest in the flagship brand, which is breaking popularity records in the United States.
