Skoda is preparing for the groundbreaking premiere of the Epiq model, which has the potential to revolutionize the market for urban electric vehicles. This 4.1-meter-long SUV, built on the MEB+ platform, is expected to cost around 25,000 euros, allowing it to compete with combustion engine cars. The vehicle will debut in full glory in May, with production starting at Volkswagen's Spanish plant in Navarre, offering a range exceeding 400 kilometers.

Attractive Market Price

The expected starting price of 25,000 euros is set to equalize the purchase costs of an electric car with combustion engine vehicles from the same segment.

Production in Spain

The new Skoda will not be produced in Czechia but at Volkswagen's plant in Navarre, which is part of the plan for integrating the MEB+ platform.

Impressive Space

Despite its urban dimensions, the car will offer a luggage compartment with a capacity of up to 490 liters and an interior inspired by the larger Octavia.

The Czech car manufacturer is revealing its cards in a segment that could dominate European roads in the coming years. Skoda Epiq is a compact, fully electric SUV designed to bridge the gap between traditional motoring and the new era of electromobility. Despite its modest external dimensions, the approximately 4.1-meter-long vehicle offers an impressive 490-liter luggage compartment. The car introduces the brand's new design language called „Modern Solid,„ characterized by a minimalist yet robust silhouette. This model is based on the MEB+ platform, which allows for significant reductions in production costs and the final price for customers. The most important advantage of the new Skoda is expected to be its price, hovering around 25,000 euros (approximately 105,000-110,000 Polish zloty), placing it in direct competition with models like the Renault 4 or Fiat Grande Panda. Technically, the Epiq is set to offer power around 211 HP (155 kW), providing dynamics unprecedented in this price segment. Initial prototype test drives near Porto confirm that engineers focused on comfort and excellent cabin sound insulation. The official global premiere of the production version is scheduled for May 2026, with the first units arriving in showrooms in autumn. Skoda has been building its position in the Volkswagen Group for decades as a brand offering „more car for less money,„ starting with the success of the first Octavia in 1996 after the company was taken over by German capital. Production of the model will not take place at the home plant in Mlada Boleslav but in Spain, at the factory in Navarre. This is part of a broader strategy by the Volkswagen Group aimed at optimizing the supply chain for affordable electric cars. Skoda plans to significantly expand its electric model range by the end of the year. The Epiq has the potential to become a new bestseller, attracting customers who have so far been wary of the high costs of purchasing zero-emission vehicles. „Epiq includes what you won't find in the Kamiq or Karoq: modern drive and digital architecture while maintaining legendary practicality.” — Skoda brand representative Luggage compartment capacity in liters (selected models): Skoda Epiq: 490, Skoda Kamiq: 400, Skoda Fabia: 380, Hyundai Inster: 280 25,000€ — is the expected base price of the Epiq model Skoda Epiq vs Skoda Kamiq: Drive: Combustion → Electric; Length: 4.24 m → 4.10 m; Luggage: 400 l → 490 l; Central screen: 9.2 inches → 13 inches
