Pollar

Pollar in the open

The numbers behind Pollar, kept in public: what the system reads each day, how many readers support us, and every cost and contribution. Live where it can be, once a month where the figures come from invoices.

Monthly finances

Money moves on invoices, not in real time, so we publish it monthly: in the first week of each month, for the month before. One table, the plain figures, a short note.

What doesn't change

  • No salaries. Nobody in the company draws a wage.
  • No investors. Pollar is self-funded.
  • No grants. No public or institutional money.

June brought our first real sale: one reader chose to pay, 63.87 dollars after tax. It sat against 1,127.55 dollars of costs, most of that the AI that drafts and translates every summary, with servers, our news provider and a first small advertising test making up the rest. The founders covered the gap, and nobody drew a salary.
