This year's Mobile World Congress in Barcelona became the stage for one of the biggest premieres in Xiaomi's history. The main highlight was the debut of the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra smartphones. These devices represent the next stage of a strategic partnership with the legendary brand Leica. The Ultra model stands out from the competition primarily due to its advanced optical system, which is set to revolutionize night and portrait photography. Industry journalists note the unprecedented energy efficiency and charging speed, placing the new flagships in direct competition with the latest models from Samsung and Apple. Alongside the mobile segment, Xiaomi presented a wide range of accessories and companion devices. These included the Pad 8 and Pad 8 Pro tablets, which offer a slim design while maintaining high computing power. Polish consumers can expect attractive pre-sale offers, including bundles with electric scooters or tablets for a symbolic amount. An interesting addition to the ecosystem is the Xiaomi Tag, a direct response to Apple's AirTag, and a new smartwatch running on the WearOS system, which allows for six days of operation without charging. The origins of the Xiaomi Mi series (now simply Xiaomi) date back to 2011, when the company started as a provider of cheap alternatives to Apple. A decade later, the brand has become a leader in the premium segment, capturing part of the market after Huawei's troubles. The biggest surprise during the conference, however, was the presentation of an electric Hypercar dedicated to Gran Turismo fans. This is a clear signal that Xiaomi does not intend to limit itself solely to consumer electronics but wants to compete in the advanced electromobility market. These actions are part of the strategy to build a complete technological environment encompassing home, smartphone, and transport. „Xiaomi and Leica are together redefining the future of mobile photography.” — Xiaomi representative The introduction of new products to the European market takes place in an atmosphere of strong price competition. Although flagship prices are rising, Xiaomi tries to compensate with rich equipment and innovative features, such as the variable aperture in the Ultra model or integration with Google services in watches. Experts predict that the Series 17 could become one of the best-selling flagship devices in the coming half-year.
