American tech giant Microsoft has announced the success of its climate strategy. The company managed to balance its total annual electricity demand through renewable energy contracts. This achievement coincides with the publication of development plans for Polish transmission networks, which for the first time so clearly account for the enormous increase in power demand from the data center sector, crucial for artificial intelligence development.

American conglomerate Microsoft has officially confirmed the achievement of its ambitious climate goal set in 2020. The company has reached a state where its total global electricity consumption is fully balanced by purchases from renewable energy sources (RES). This is the result of contracting over 40 gigawatts of new capacity, representing one of the biggest successes in energy transformation in the technology sector. This information was conveyed by Melanie Nakagawa, Chief Sustainability Officer, during a meeting in Ireland, where the company built its first data center outside the United States.
