The Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) is beginning the rollout of a new version of the eZUS portal, which is set to replace the current, archaic PUE ZUS system. In the first phase, scheduled for the beginning of next week, 500,000 randomly selected entrepreneurs will gain access to the modern payer account. The modernization focuses on improving transparency, intuitiveness, and facilitating daily settlements with the institution, addressing long-standing criticism of the previous interface.
New eZUS Interface
The system has undergone a complete overhaul in line with UX principles, offering entrepreneurs an intuitive payer account and transparent access to data.
Launch for 500,000 Firms
The rollout will begin at the start of next week with a group of half a million randomly selected business clients.
Avalanche of Seniority Applications
Since January 1, 2026, over 383,000 applications for determining seniority have been submitted, of which 60,000 have already been rejected.
Documentation Issues
ZUS is mass-rejecting calculations due to lack of documents confirming work periods before 1999.
The Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) has announced a breakthrough stage in the modernization of its digital infrastructure. Starting next week, the first group of 500,000 contribution payers will gain access to a completely new version of the eZUS portal. The selection of users participating in the test was conducted randomly. The changes are being implemented within a user experience approach, aiming to eliminate issues with the outdated PUE ZUS system. The ZUS Electronic Services Platform was launched in 2012 as Poland's first large-scale e-government office of its kind, but over the years it has been criticized for lack of transparency and complicated navigation. The new payer account has been designed to enable instant access to the most important information about contribution settlements and employee sick leaves. Representatives of ZUS emphasize that the phased implementation will allow for ongoing monitoring of system stability after such a thorough modification. The digitization process coincides with a significant administrative burden on the institution. Since January 1, 2026, new regulations concerning the calculation of work seniority have been in effect. This has triggered an avalanche of inquiries – nearly 400,000 applications were submitted in the first month alone. Unfortunately, a significant portion of them, as many as 60,000, have been rejected. ZUS points to frequent lack of required documentation and formal errors as the main reasons for negative decisions, particularly in the case of individuals applying for the calculation of initial capital.
