Former Agriculture Minister Robert Telus has been officially reinstated as a member of Law and Justice. The decision was announced by party spokesman Rafał Bochenek, citing the results of an internal explanatory proceeding. Telus had been suspended since October of last year by chairman Jarosław Kaczyński due to controversies surrounding the sale of a plot of land located within the planned investment area of the Central Communication Port in Zabłotnia. The party determined that the MP bears no fault in this matter.

Reinstatement of Robert Telus

Former agriculture minister restored as a member of Law and Justice by decision of the party leadership.

No fault in land plot matter

PiS's internal investigation found no irregularities on the MP's part regarding the sale of land for the CPK.

End of suspension period

The MP had been outside the party's decision-making structures since October 2025.

Robert Telus, former Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, returns to full activity within the structures of Law and Justice. The decision to reinstate the MP was made on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, thus ending the several-month period of political absence for the parliamentarian within his own party. Rafał Bochenek, the PiS spokesman, informed that internal party bodies conducted a detailed investigation which found no irregularities on Telus's part. According to the party, the politician bears no responsibility for the situation related to the real estate transaction in Zabłotnia. The case, which led to Telus's suspension in October 2025, concerned a plot of land necessary for the implementation of a railway investment as part of the Central Communication Port. Media reported at the time about potential irregularities in the sale of the land by the MP's family, which prompted an immediate reaction from Jarosław Kaczyński. Robert Telus himself, in comments to the media, emphasized that he was convinced of his innocence from the beginning and treated the entire matter as a political burden he had to accept for the good of the party's image. The institution of suspending party membership rights is frequently used by leaders of Polish political groups as a disciplinary measure or a public relations response to media reports, allowing for the controversy to subside before formal explanatory procedures are concluded. Currently, after being cleared of internal party allegations, Telus regains the ability to hold functions within PiS structures. The party spokesman noted that the proceeding definitively closed the issue of the MP's potential guilt. Telus's reinstatement comes at a time when the CPK case and related expropriations remain one of the main topics of public debate in Poland. „Od początku wiedziałem, że jestem niewinny i w tej sprawie nie ma i nie było żadnych zarzutów.” (From the beginning, I knew I was innocent and there are and were no allegations in this matter.) — Robert Telus
