Poland has officially inaugurated the Civil Security Hub Poland, a pioneering center using advanced satellite data to protect the population. The initiative, created by CloudFerro in cooperation with the European Space Agency, aims to radically improve the efficiency of crisis management. Thanks to instant access to Earth imagery, Polish rescue services will receive an invaluable tool for combating natural disasters such as floods or forest fires.

Satellite Support for Rescue Services

The center provides real-time remote sensing data for the fire service and civil protection services.

Cooperation with ESA

The project is implemented by CloudFerro with the support of the European Space Agency and the Ministry of Digital Affairs.

Four Pillars of Protection

Activities focus on floods, forest fires, infrastructure, and urban planning.

Civil Security Hub Poland is becoming a key element of the national security system, offering rescue services access to remote sensing data of unprecedented precision. The project, coordinated by the Polish company CloudFerro, integrates resources from the Copernicus program with national systems. The hub's main task is to deliver information in near real-time, allowing for rapid monitoring of dynamically changing situations on the ground. This system is dedicated not only to the fire service but also to local government units and bodies responsible for civil protection. Poland has been a member of the European Space Agency (ESA) since 2012, which opened the door for domestic companies to participate in the most prestigious space missions and technology contracts. Since then, the Polish space sector has evolved from producing small components to building advanced data processing systems and its own operational satellites. The center's activities focus on four pillars: flood protection, forest monitoring, infrastructure security, and urban management. Within the flood module, the system analyzes terrain and water levels, enabling the creation of precise risk maps and forecasting the spread of flood peaks. In the forestry sector, satellites allow for the detection of fire hotspots and assessment of forest condition, which is critical in the face of intensifying drought periods. The hub also enables the detection of micro-vibrations and ground displacements, which is crucial for monitoring the stability of bridges, dams, and pipelines. 4 — key operational areas of the Civil Security Hub Support from the Ministry of Digital Affairs and ESA underscores the project's strategic importance for Polish informational sovereignty in the field of security. Thanks to Civil Security Hub Poland, Polish specialists gain access to a platform that not only aggregates data but also offers analytical tools based on artificial intelligence. This allows for the automatic recognition of changes in land use or the detection of illegal waste dumps, which can pose an environmental threat. In the long term, the center is intended to become an incubator for new technological solutions, connecting the world of science with practical applications in uniformed services and medical rescue.
