The National Prosecutor's Office has officially launched actions aimed at clarifying the role of individuals from Poland in Jeffrey Epstein's pedophilia scandal. The appointed investigative team number five is to analyze extensive evidentiary material, including hundreds of pages of new files declassified by the American justice system. Waldemar Żurek, representing the Ministry of Justice, confirmed that Polish services have already contacted the U.S. Department of Justice to streamline information flow and gain access to previously undisclosed archives. According to unofficial information, investigators are focusing on the logistics of travel of Epstein's victims and associates to Central Europe and on identifying Polish names appearing in the financier's so-called black book. Jeffrey Epstein was an American financier accused of human trafficking and sexual exploitation of minors, who died under mysterious circumstances in custody in 2019. His activities were based on building influence among global political and business elites, giving the case a global character. Simultaneously, media reports indicate the existence of secret safes and data storage centers which Epstein allegedly used to hide compromising materials for blackmailing third parties. Spanish and German sources suggest these archives may contain recordings and documents incriminating politicians from many countries. Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced that the Polish state will act ruthlessly against anyone proven to be involved in this criminal enterprise. At the same time, the prosecutor's office appeals for restraint in passing judgment, noting that the presence of a name on contact lists does not automatically imply involvement in a crime but requires thorough procedural verification. „W tej sprawie nie ma miejsca na żaden kompromis. Państwo polskie musi być silne i zdeterminowane w walce z tak odrażającą przestępczością, niezależnie od tego, jak wysokie stanowiska zajmują osoby zamieszane w ten proceder.” (In this matter, there is no room for any compromise. The Polish state must be strong and determined in fighting such repulsive criminality, regardless of how high the positions held by individuals involved in this enterprise are.) — Donald Tusk
