Polish police have carried out a series of successful operations in recent days targeting online and common crime. A key event was the apprehension of an 18-year-old from Gdańsk who praised a recent brutal crime in Kadłub on social media. Simultaneously, officers are warning about new methods of scams 'on artificial intelligence' and 'on an offshore platform worker', which have caused senior women to lose tens of thousands of zlotys.

Success of Wrocław police
Over 2200 stolen watches were recovered and the group responsible for this act was detained.
Police officers from Gdańsk detained an 18-year-old man who publicly praised a murder committed in the town of Kadłub online. In his posts, the young man not only expressed approval for the perpetrator but also declared a desire to surpass his 'achievements', which law enforcement authorities treated as a real threat and promotion of terrorism. The teenager's arrest fits into the broader context of the fight against hate speech and the radicalization of youth online. At the same time, a worrying increase in sophisticated financial fraud has been noted across the country. In one of the most glaring cases, a senior woman lost 40 thousand zlotys, believing promises of multiplying capital by artificial intelligence algorithms. Another 67-year-old woman fell victim to emotional manipulation, transferring over 20 thousand zlotys to a supposed partner who was said to work on an offshore platform. Police appeal for particular caution when conducting transactions with strangers and verifying the identity of people asking for financial support. In recent years, Polish police have noted a systematic increase in crimes committed in cyberspace, which forced the establishment of specialized units to combat cybercrime in every voivodeship.Successes have also been achieved in the fight against property crime. In Wrocław, a group of foreigners who stole over 2200 watches was broken up, while in Masovia, perpetrators responsible for the theft of goods worth several thousand zlotys were detained. Interventions also concerned drug trafficking, exemplified by the detention of a 68-year-old woman possessing a kilogram of amphetamine and young men in Łódź. „Oszuści wykorzystują każdą nowinkę technologiczną, aby uwiarygodnić swoje działania w oczach potencjalnych ofiar.” (Scammers exploit every technological novelty to make their actions credible in the eyes of potential victims.) — National Police HeadquartersThese actions show the determination of the services in combating both new forms of technological crime and classic violations of public order. The Interpol Red Notice institution, mentioned in one of the detentions, constitutes the highest level of international search for persons for the purpose of their extradition or similar legal actions.
